The Cambria-Friesland School District is located 40 miles north of Madison, 25 miles east of Portage and 19 miles west of Beaver Dam.  The school district community includes the villages of Cambria and Friesland and six townships.  The district includes a childcare center starting at infants and serves students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.

Substitute Licensing Information

How to become a substitute teacher in the Cambria-Friesland School District

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) charges fees for the issuance of teaching licenses. Unless determined otherwise by the district, cost for a substitute teaching license is the responsibility of the applicant.

• If you have an associates degree or higher from an accredited college or university you are eligible for a DPI - Three Year Short Term Substitute License after a successful completion of an approved substitute training program.  A number of virtual/online training programs are offered by all twelve Cooperative Educational Service Associations (CESA) throughout the state.  STEDI.org is another option that is both affordable and readily available.  To learn more about the CESA course offerings, STEDI.org and more, go to the DPI - Three Year Short Term Substitute License.
• If you have a bachelor’s degree in education or have been through an educator preparation program, you’re eligible for a Five Year Substitute License.
